Tools Needed:
- Flathead screwdriver
- Flashlight
- 5 ¾-inch needle-nose pliers (recommended)
- Any type of knife
Steps to Adjust the Mute Filter:
1. Remove the Bottom Panel
Unscrew the eight screws on the bottom of the GLD using a screwdriver.
Use a knife (or fingers) to help pry open the panel.
2. Locate the Target Resistor
Ensure the board is facing up and away from you.
Identify the working area, marked with a red square in the video.
A red arrow points to the resistor that needs adjustment.
3. Adjust the Resistor
If there is a black capacitor near the resistor, gently move it aside.
Use needle-nose pliers to grip the resistor from the top and bottom and squeeze it firmly.
Repeat two to three times until it breaks slightly but does not need to be fully removed.
4. Test the GLD Before Reassembling
Flip the device over and play a record to verify the mute filter adjustment.
If successful, reassemble the GLD by securing the panel back with the eight screws.
Following this method should resolve issues with the mute filter. If the test confirms proper functionality, the GLD can be reassembled.
